We are looking for an experienced Pastry Chef to join our talented culinary team at Honbun Bakery in central and south Jakarta. As our Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating delectable desserts and baked goods that delight our customers. This full-time position offers the opportunity to showcase your creativity and passion for pastry in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What you'll be doing

1. Plan, prepare and present a variety of high-quality pastries, cakes, breads and other baked goods

2. Ensure consistency and presentation of all pastry items according to established recipes and standards

3. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new and innovative bakery and pastry offerings

4. Manage pastry production, including ordering supplies, inventory control and maintaining a clean, organised pastry kitchen

5. Train and supervise pastry kitchen staff to uphold the highest standards of food safety and quality

6. Continually research industry trends and techniques to enhance the pastry programme

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 3 years' experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant or hotel environment

2. Formal culinary training or a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts

3. Expertise in preparing a wide variety of pastries, including breads, cakes, tarts, and plated desserts

4. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure consistency and presentation

5. Ability to work effectively in a team and provide leadership to kitchen staff

6. Passion for creating innovative desserts and a commitment to using high-quality, fresh ingredients
