The Operation teams at Shopee covers the operational end-to-end process, from when the buyer searches for a product listed on the Shopee platform, to the moment the buyer receives the products. The team analyses and monitors operational KPIs across the region and conducts root cause analysis when operation performance fluctuates. The Operations team comprises Customer Service, Payment, Listings, Warehouse, Logistics, Seller Operations and Fraud.

Job Description:

• Review and verify merchant documents (IDs, licenses, business information) for accuracy and legitimacy.
• Conduct enhanced due diligence for all risk profiles. 
• Periodically reassess merchants and monitor suspicious activity. 
• Accurately verified data into KYC systems and maintained audit record-keeping. 
• Handle and organize submitted documents digitally. 
• Ensure full compliance with KYC and AML regulations and internal policies. 
• Approve, reject, or escalate KYC submissions based on verification results.
• Document decision-making processes clearly. 
• Maintain KPIs through KYC activities and performance metrics by quality and quantity. 
• Manage workloads to meet SLAs and reports. 

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Bahasa and English are required. 
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Economics, or a related field with strong academic performance. 
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in KYC, customer onboarding, preferably in startups, banking, non-banking financial services, or other regulated industries. 
• Familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and Ongoing Due Diligence (ODD) processes. 
• Proven experience in Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures and background checks. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across various levels. 
• Proficient in correspondence and administrative tasks; Excel, Google Docs, and Google Sheets. 
• Detail-oriented.
