Role Description The Head of Finance and Accounting is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing all financial operations at PopStar. This role manages the preparation and review of financial statements, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintains compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. The Head of Finance and Accounting will lead budgeting and forecasting processes, monitor cash flow, and provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising the accounting function, improving internal controls, optimizing financial systems and processes, and partnering with leadership to evaluate business performance and growth opportunities. This role will also collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners as needed.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Finance and Financial Reporting, with the ability to interpret data and present insights to leadership.
• Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing Financial Statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Proficiency in Budgeting and forecasting, including building and managing annual and multi-year financial plans.
• Advanced Analytical Skills to evaluate business performance, unit economics, and return on investment for strategic initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; a relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFA) is a plus.
• Proven experience leading finance and accounting functions, preferably in a technology, media, or high-growth company environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial best practices, including experience with modern accounting and reporting tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed, remote team.
