Some of your duties will include:

• To oversee and manage the execution of construction projects by ensuring adherence to schedules, structural design suitability, quality standards, and safety regulations, while providing technical guidance and effectively coordinating resources to ensure the successful completion of civil and structural works.
• Oversee daily construction activities, including civil works (concrete, roads, drainage) and structural works (steel structures, rebar, and other work that requires engineering attention).
• Coordinate contractors, workers, and equipment to meet project schedules and milestones.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, engineering document, quality, and safety compliance.
• Coordinating across departments regarding the project's activity needs.
• Interpret and ensure adherence to engineering drawings, specifications, quality and company standards.
• Provide technical solutions to address on-site construction challenges.
• Ensure all disciplinary aspects are met so that the project's functional and operational aspects can run properly.
• Allocate materials, tools/equipment, and labour efficiently.
• Monitor inventory and requisition necessary materials.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure all construction activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct safety briefings and risk assessments.
• Ensure construction quality is in line with company and regulatory standards.
• Document and resolve non-conformance issues.
• Prepare and submit progress reports to management.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and department heads.

What skills and experience do you need?

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in construction supervision, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, and construction standards; Ability to Interpret engineering designs and provide guidance for proper execution; Familiar with local and international construction codes and safety regulations.
• Proven ability to manage daily construction activities, resources, and contractor performance; monitor civil & structural construction work: schedule, quality, and safety compliance; Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and corrective actions; Skilled in identifying and resolving technical issues on site.
• Have certification in Construction Supervision or Project Management is a plus; Valid safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) preferred; Hold an operational inspector certificate or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with level of position.
• Good in communications, teamwork and work collaborative across departments and stakeholders; Executes tasks with accuracy, seeks input, and makes sound decisions; Open mindset, empathy, adaptive, proactive and continuous self-improvement; Target oriented, discipline and persistence
• Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate; Proficiency in MS. Office Excel, Word; Proficient in construction management tools and reporting systems.
