Key Responsibilities:

Safety Compliance:

• Monitor and enforce adherence to national and local operations safety regulations.

• Ensure that the operation complies with company policies and regulatory safety standards.

• Regularly inspect operations, facilities, and equipment to identify and address potential hazards.

Incident Reporting & Investigation:

• Report, investigate, and document all incidents, accidents, and near-miss events.

• Coordinate with the team to identify the root cause of incidents and recommend corrective measures to prevent recurrence.

• Prepare and submit safety reports to management and regulatory bodies.

Training & Education:

• Provide safety training for new employees and conduct regular refresher courses for existing staff.

• Educate workers on the safe use of machinery, handling of hazardous materials, and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.

• Organize emergency response drills (e.g., fire drills, evacuation procedures).

Risk Assessment & Mitigation:

• Conduct risk assessments for operations, identifying high-risk activities and implementing control measures.

• Develop and implement strategies to reduce the likelihood of accidents or injuries in the workplace.

• Work with supervisors to ensure that safety risks are addressed before tasks begin.

Emergency Response Coordination:

• Act as the first responder during emergencies and coordinate evacuation or medical response when needed.

• Maintain the availability of first-aid kits, emergency medical equipment, and communication tools in case of accidents.

Safety Audits:

• Lead regular audits and safety assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of safety protocols and improve procedures.

• Coordinate with external safety auditors to review compliance and improve standards.

Safety Culture Promotion:

• Foster a proactive safety culture by encouraging workers to report hazards or unsafe behaviors.

• Organize campaigns and safety events to promote awareness of best practices and safety culture on-site. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related field.

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in safety management, ideally in mining, heavy industry, manufacture.

• Strong understanding of regulations and health and safety standards.

• Ability to communicate effectively with workers at all levels of the organization.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to handle pressure and manage emergency situations.

• Excellent communication (English included) and leadership skills.

• Attention to detail and high level of safety awareness.
