ENGINEER - RELIABILITY

Some of your duties will include:

Provide reliability engineering expertise within the Process Planning and Strategy Department to continuously improve fixed-plant equipment reliability and infrastructure integrity. The role analyses failure trends, develops cost-effective corrective actions, and drives implementation to reduce unplanned downtime, minimize production losses, and ensure compliance with Indonesian mine-safety and environmental standards as well as safety standard requirements

Reliability Analysis & Condition Monitoring:

• Lead and execute Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), and Pareto studies on critical assets.

• Track and ensure timely closure of action plans resulting from reliability investigations.

• Interpret data from vibration analysis, oil analysis, non-destructive testing (NDT), thermography, and other condition monitoring techniques to issue engineering recommendations that prevent catastrophic failures.

  • Develop and continuously improve equipment strategies based on performance data and failure trends.

Asset Strategy & Lifecycle Management:

• Perform equipment lifecycle analysis and optimize asset benchmarks to enhance reliability and reduce total cost of ownership.

Maintenance Coordination & Planning:

• Collaborate with maintenance and planning departments to prioritize weekly maintenance activities based on equipment condition and risk assessment.

• Assist the planning team in Total Plant Shutdown (TPS) preparation, ensuring all critical reliability tasks are scoped and included in the shutdown plan.

Change Management & Project Execution:

• Lead the change management process for equipment modifications and upgrades.

• Develop project plans, installation procedures, and conduct risk assessments for reliability-related projects.

• Review engineering drawings and specifications, obtain contractor bids, and manage small capital projects aimed at improving asset reliability and reducing lifecycle costs.

Documentation & CMMS Optimization:

• Create and maintain technical documentation, including maintenance procedures, engineering reports, and reliability metrics.

• Develop, optimize, and audit preventive and predictive maintenance strategies within the CMMS (SAP).

• Coordinate and validate shutdown scopes to ensure alignment with reliability goals.

Safety, Compliance & Mentorship:

• Champion Safety, Health, Environmental, and Community (SHLP) compliance across all reliability activities.

• Prepare and submit statutory inspection reports in accordance with regulatory requirements.

• Mentor technicians and junior engineers in reliability engineering best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.

What skills and experience do you need?

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (Master's preferred).

• Have 5 - 10 years' hands-on experience in maintenance and/or reliability engineering in a field environment, preferably large-scale mining or mineral-processing operations; at least have 5 -7 years of experience as Engineer Reliability.

• Demonstrated competence in RCA/FMECA, condition-monitoring data analysis and CMMS Administration; Proficiency in CMMS systems (SAP preferred), and condition monitoring tools; Prior supervisory experience coordinating engineering activities is an advantage.

• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration, Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill; Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Has Operational inspector certificate or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with level of position

• Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate; High computer literacy with all business and maintenance related software functions (Ex: SAP PM (Plant Maintenance), Ms. Office especially Ms. Excel, MS Project/Primavera (desirable), and CMMS systems).
