Position Overview

The Next Generation Electronic Medical Record (NGEMR) is a mission critical healthcare critical information infrastructure (CII) system that touches every aspect of healthcare delivery in Singapore. The system has been live since 2020 and has direct impact to patient safety, clinical outcome, operation efficiencies and patient billing. 

Role & Responsibilities

• Configuring and maintaining the system databases according to the environment strategy
• Engaging in capacity planning exercises to ensure adequate system resources
• Monitoring database size a
• Creating and managing plans for maintaining statistics and indexes
• Understanding performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues
• Following vendor and Epic best practices for hardware and software configuration
• Meeting with Cogito Process Analysts (PA) and report requesters (SMEs) to understand their data needs
• Identifying and reviewing the appropriate technological solutions for various reporting needs
• Creating reports, using a third-party report writing tool such as Crystal reports, to display data
• Writing SQL for custom SQL metrics

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven experience in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for data extraction and transformation
• Hands-on experience with daily ETL processes and database operations
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and practices
• Hands-on experience in the SQL Query builds
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server)
• Knowledge of ETL tools and techniques
• Understanding of data modeling and database design principles 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot ETL processes and database issues
• Ability to analyze data and generate meaningful insights
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
• Epic Cogito Administration Certification would be added advantage 
• Relevant certifications in data management or ETL tools (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate) are a plus
