About The Job

Multi Bintang Indonesia is currently hiring for a Strategic Sustainability Manager, a senior-level position based in South Jakarta, Talavera Office Park. This role reports directly to the Corporate Affairs Director and plays a key leadership role in driving the company’s sustainability strategy and impact across the organization.

Job Purpose

At Multi Bintang Indonesia, you’ll have the opportunity to drive real change in sustainability, supporting people, the planet, and fostering togetherness.

As Strategic Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategies, aligning sustainability programs with business objectives, and engaging key stakeholders to ensure sustainable business growth. Reporting to the Corporate Affairs Director, you will lead sustainability efforts across the organization and manage key projects under the Sahabat Multi Bintang Indonesia Foundation. This role offers the opportunity to influence policies, advocate for sustainable business practices, and create partnerships that make a lasting impact.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sustainability strategies that align with Multi Bintang Indonesia’s business goals and HEINEKEN’s global sustainability vision.
• Lead and manage sustainability programs focusing on carbon reduction, water conservation, and community empowerment.
• Engage with government agencies and industry partners (e.g., PLN, PDAM, regency & central governments, international/multilateral organizations) to advocate for competitive carbon pricing, water conservation and community empowerment initiatives.
• Drive the company’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) efforts and lead advocacy strategies and compliance programs in line with prevailing environmental regulations & standards and emerging trends.
• Support fundraising efforts and stakeholder engagement for the Sahabat Multi Bintang Indonesia Foundation, ensuring meaningful social impact.
• Work collaboratively with internal departments through the Sustainability & Responsibility Working Groups (S&R Forum) to integrate sustainability into all business operations.
• Utilize data and analytics to measure, report, and communicate sustainability performance.
• Communicate sustainability initiatives and progress effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
• Position Multi Bintang Indonesia as a leading sustainability-driven company, representing the organization in key industry events and sustainability forums.
• Develop strong stakeholder relationships to ensure continued support and advocacy for sustainability initiatives.
• Manage external agencies, consultants, and sustainability memberships, ensuring effective budget utilization and return on investment.
• Lead and develop a high-performing sustainability team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and impact-driven results.

Candidate Criteria

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Environmental Science, Business, Public Policy, or a related field.
• Experience: 7+ years of experience in sustainability, ESG strategy, corporate affairs, corporate communications or related fields.
• Proven track record in developing and executing sustainability programs within corporate settings.
• Strong experience in stakeholder engagement, government relations, and policy advocacy.
• Knowledge of sustainability regulations and frameworks (e.g., carbon pricing, circular economy, water conservation).
• Previous experience managing budgets and external partnerships in sustainability programs.
• Skills & Competencies: Strong networking & influencing abilities to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Data-driven mindset, with the ability to analyze, measure, and report sustainability impact.
• Creativity and strategic thinking, with the ability to drive long-term sustainability roadmaps.
• Understanding of relevant regulations and compliance standards in sustainability.
• Excellent writing & communications skills for both internal and external communications, including storytelling in digital channels.
• Project management expertise, with a proven ability to execute large-scale initiatives.
• Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and proficient in English (written & spoken).
