Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in all kitchen operations, including food preparation and service.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the correct recipe and presentation standards.
- Monitor food stock levels and order supplies when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment according to food safety standards (HACCP or equivalent).
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, including line cooks and prep staff.
- Help develop new recipes and menu items in collaboration with the Head Chef.
- Step in to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Monitor portion control and minimize food waste.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef with min 3 years of experience
- Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety standards, and culinary techniques.
- Leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing demands.
- Creativity and passion for food and hospitality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
