Now we are looking for a dynamic, outgoing and enthusiastic - Sous Chef Pastry with strong background and experience in Pastry and Culinary for Hospitality to join our energetic, enthusiastic and passionate team at Grand Hyatt Bali.  

The Sous Chef Pastry oversees the supply and production of baked goods and pastries. This person will supervise and train the team to create memorable and high-quality food. Some additional responsibilities include hiring, scheduling, coaching, and development. 

As a Sous Chef Pastry, you will be reporting directly to the Pastry Chef and below are some of the key responsibilities:  

• Assists to ensure that culinary activities are aligned with the respective Corporate Strategy, and that the Hotel Actions have been implemented where appropriate 

• Handles guest and employee enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, whilst providing a prompt follow-up. 

• Work closely with other employees in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests. 

• Frequently tastes bakery and pastry products in all outlets and be demanding and critical when it comes to Food and Beverage quality. 

• Focuses attention on improving productivity levels and the need to prudently manage utility/payroll costs within acceptable guidelines ensuring optimum deployment and energy efficiency of all equipment. 

• Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming. 

• Minimum of 1 year of solid experience as Sous Chef Pastry in a large 5-star luxury hotel or resort. 

• Has a solid background of working in a high demand business environment. 

• Has strong leadership skills, train and develop team, and is a role model. 

• Eloquent in English communication in both written and spoken. 

• Is well versed in working with Property Management System such as BIRCHSTREET and other systems. 

• Has proven track of working with timelines and targets. 

• Highly conscientious and diligent. 

• Diploma in Hospitality or other relevant fields. A Bachelor's Degree is a plus.
