BCS is NETS' wholly owned subsidiary, and is an entity within the NETS Group. It manages and operates clearing and payment infrastructure for the Singapore Automated Clearing House, including Fast And Secure Transfers (FAST), Inter-bank GIRO (IBG), Cheque Truncation System (CTS), and provides services for PayNow and SGQR Central Repository.

The Technology Division at BCS is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and support of BCS applications such as FAST, Giro, CTS, PayNow, SGQR, TFR, eGIRO and its critical infrastructure, ensuring its operational stability, regulatory compliance, and service reliability.

The IT Infrastructure Department under Technology ensures the resilience, security, and high-performance of BCS' technology infrastructure across various functions of service monitoring, incident management, and technical support. The team ensures seamless operation, maintenance, and strategic growth of core infrastructure components, including networks, servers, storage, middleware, and databases.

The Senior Infrastructure VMware and Windows Engineer will be responsible for performing setup and system administration in a heterogeneous environment comprising of VM and Windows-based servers.

Key Responsibilities

Windows Server Administration

• Manage and maintain Windows Server environments (2012/2016/2019/2022).
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, File Services, and WSUS.
• Perform server hardening, patching, and compliance enforcement aligned to internal security policies and regulatory standards (e.g., CIS, MAS TRM).
• Handle identity and access management (IAM) activities including role-based access control and privileged account management.

VMware Infrastructure Management

• Design, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere environments including ESXi, vCenter, vMotion, HA, DRS, and vSAN.
• Conduct performance tuning, resource optimization, and capacity planning across virtualized environments.
• Manage disaster recovery (DR) readiness and replication setups (e.g., SRM, backup strategies).
• Perform system upgrades, patch management, and apply hardening standards in compliance with organizational security policies.

Automation, Monitoring and Support

• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Ansible, or similar tools
• Use monitoring tools like vROps, SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios to proactively detect and address issues.
• Provide L3 escalation support for infrastructure incidents and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and SOPs for operational readiness and audit purposes.

Collaboration and Governance

• Work closely with network, security, application, and DevOps teams to ensure system integrity.
• Participate in change advisory boards (CAB), vulnerability remediation cycles, and IT audits.
• Lead or contribute to infrastructure upgrade projects, technology refreshes, and migration initiatives.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in system administration and supporting Microsoft Windows/ VMware with at least 3 years of experience working in a financial institution

Skills and Knowledge

• Proven capability in performing OS hardening and patching using WSUS/SCCM
• Experience in performing VMWare hardening and patching
• Experience in installing and configuring vCenter and VMWare
• Proficient in Active-Directory administration
• Strong knowledge of VMWare Virtualization, vMotion, DRS and distributed switch
• Knowledgeable in Ansible software and PowerShell script will be advantageous
• Familiar with data center operations
• Excellent ability to communicate technical and strategic information effectively across all organisational levels, fostering collaboration and alignment
• Strong interpersonal skills and able to work independently as well as in a team
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter and possess a customer-oriented mindset
• Resilient, ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced environment

Professional Certifications

• VMware and/or Linux Administrator certifications
