About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Process Engineer – Paint Shop to join our manufacturing team. This role will focus on developing, improving, and controlling paint shop processes to ensure high-quality finishes, production efficiency, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge in automotive painting processes, surface preparation, and process optimization.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Process Engineer in the automotive industry, preferably in paint shop car production
• Strong understanding of automotive painting processes, including pre-treatment, e-coating, sealing, and top-coat applications
• Knowledge of paint shop equipment (robots, spray systems, ovens, conveyors) and process control methods
• Experience in PFMEA, control plan, SOP development, and line balancing
• Familiar with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar software is a plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia
• Develop and optimize paint shop processes to meet quality, safety, and productivity targets
• Analyze cycle times, takt times, and process flow to ensure efficient operations
• Monitor and evaluate paint shop parameters (humidity, temperature, paint thickness, curing) to maintain standards
• Lead problem-solving activities for paint quality issues such as runs, sags, orange peel, or color mismatches
• Prepare and maintain process documentation including SOPs, control plans, and PFMEA
• Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and production teams to ensure stable process conditions
• Support the introduction of new models or process changes in the paint shop
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and ISO/TS standards
