OverviewOur client, a leading player in the renewable energy and power generation sector is seeking an experienced Operation Director to oversee multi-site plant operations, fuel supply chain management, and operational performance. This role will be responsible for leading a large team, driving operational excellence, and ensuring compliance with HSE and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in renewable energy or thermal power plant management, with strong leadership and strategic planning capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations and maintenance (O&M) across multiple plants to ensure optimal production and efficiency.

• Develop and implement fuel sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and monitor market trends.

• Oversee logistics, transportation, storage, and inventory for fuels and byproducts.

• Manage ash handling, sales, and reuse programs in compliance with environmental standards.

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure HSE compliance across all facilities.

• Drive maintenance reliability programs, asset integrity, and cost optimization.

• Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams, fostering a results-driven culture.

• Manage operational budgets and monitor performance KPIs.

• Serve as the main liaison with regulatory bodies, grid operators, and local authorities.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (Master's preferred).

• 10-15 years of progressive experience in power plant operations, with at least 5 years in senior leadership.

• Proven experience in renewable energy (solar, bioenergy) or thermal power plants (biomass, coal).

• Expertise in fuel supply chain management and supplier negotiations.

• Strong knowledge of O&M, HSE standards, and regulatory compliance.

• Experience in implementing SCADA, CMMS, and digital plant monitoring systems.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Willingness to travel (up to 20% of the time).
