Overview
As part of our growth, we are seeking a Finance & Accounting Associate to take full ownership of our accounting and finance operations in Indonesia. This role is ideal for someone who is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and excited to manage the full accounting cycle from transaction recording to financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with local standards, tax regulations, and group policies.
Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Reporting
- Manage end‑to‑end accounting processes (full‑loop accounting).
- Accounts Payable (AP): Verify and record vendor invoices, process payments, and monitor outstanding payables, ensuring all supporting documents comply with company policy and Indonesian tax rules.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Issue and record customer invoices, track and follow up on payments, and reconcile receivables to ensure accuracy and completeness of revenue recognition.
- General Ledger (GL): Record daily financial transactions, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments, and maintain accurate ledgers for assets, liabilities, income, and expenses.
- Manage payment operations, including vendor disbursements, employee reimbursements, and intercompany transfers, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Perform month‑end and year‑end closing, including reconciliations, schedules, and trial balances to ensure accurate financial statements.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and management analyses for internal use and reporting to headquarters.
- Ensure accounting records comply with Indonesian accounting standards (PSAK) and group accounting policies.
- Maintain organized financial documentation and ensure accuracy and traceability of all records.
Tax & Compliance
- Handle tax compliance (VAT/PPN, Withholding Tax PPh 21, 23, 4(2), and Corporate Income Tax), ensuring timely and accurate submission in accordance with Indonesian regulations.
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, legal firms, banks, tax officers, government offices, and other relevant parties to ensure all compliance requirements are properly supported and submitted.
- Support tax audits and ensure proper documentation and communication with authorities.
- Stay up to date with changes in accounting, tax, and statutory requirements.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure smooth business operations and optimize working capital.
- Support financial forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis to guide management decisions and future business strategy.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial efficiency, cost control, and resource allocation.
- Assist in variance analysis between actual and forecasted results and identify improvement opportunities.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with the local management team and headquarters to ensure alignment in accounting, tax, and reporting matters.
- Continuously review accounting processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
- Support projects, process improvements, and ad‑hoc finance tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of hands‑on accounting experience, preferably in startups, tech companies, or SMEs.
- Strong understanding of Indonesian accounting standards (PSAK) and tax regulations (PPh, PPN).
- Experience handling full sets of accounts independently.
- Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, and in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong sense of ownership, problem‑solving skills, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Good communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
