About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in Batam, Riau Islands. This full-time role will be responsible for our company, PT JINJIA NGP INDONESIA.

• This is a factory-site-oriented cost accounting role, responsible not only for cost calculation but also for supporting plant management through on-site cost control and improvement initiatives.
• The role emphasizes manufacturing cost analysis, process understanding, and management support rather than pure bookkeeping.

What you’ll be doing

• Responsible for product cost calculation, cost structure analysis, and monthly cost closing for the plant.
• Conduct on-site verification in production and warehouse areas to ensure consistency between actual material consumption and accounting records.
• Review and monitor the reasonableness and accuracy of basic cost data such as BOMs, scrap rates, and standard labor hours.
• Analyze variances in materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead, identify root causes, and propose improvement actions.
• Organize and participate in inventory counts, driving variance analysis and accountability follow-up.
• Support plant management in cost control initiatives and cost reduction projects.
• Coordinate with corporate finance, audits, and management reporting requirements.

What we’re looking for

• Chinese: Native or fluent (Mandatory).
• English: Basic working communication skills are preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines.
• 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting.
• Industry experience in tobacco is not required; general manufacturing experience is sufficient.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures, including material, labour, and overheads.
• Hands-on experience with actual cost or standard cost systems.
• Practical knowledge of BOM, routing, work orders, and WIP cost accounting.
• Able to independently perform monthly cost closing, analysis, and variance explanations.
• Experienced in inventory management, stocktaking processes, and variance handling.
• Proficient in ERP systems and Excel for cost analysis and management reporting.
• Willing and able to work extensively on the shop floor with a solid understanding of actual manufacturing processes.
• Strong ability to drive cross-functional collaboration with production, warehouse, and procurement teams.
• Highly data-driven with strong judgment on abnormal costs and the execution capability to drive corrective actions.
