BIM Landscape Architect, Job Description

We are seeking a skilled BIM Landscape Architect to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in landscape architecture combined with expertise in BIM software and workflows. You will be responsible for developing and managing 3D landscape models, collaborating with architects and engineers, and ensuring accurate digital representations of site designs that integrate with overall building projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage 3D BIM models for landscape architecture projects using software such as Revit, Civil 3D, and/or Vectorworks.

• Produce detailed construction drawings, planting plans, and site layouts based on BIM standards.

• Ensure compliance with industry and project-specific BIM

• Participate in clash detection and resolve model coordination issues.

• Maintain and update the BIM model throughout the project lifecycle, from concept through construction documentation.

• Support the project team in sustainability strategies, stormwater management, and green infrastructure design using BIM data.

• Generate visualizations and rendered site plans for client presentations when needed.

• Contribute to project planning, specification writing, and quantity take-offs using BIM tools.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.

• Professional experience in a landscape architecture or architecture firm (typically 3+ years for intermediate roles).

• Proven expertise in BIM software, including Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Rhino, or Vectorworks Landmark.

• Strong understanding of BIM workflows, model coordination, and data management.

• Familiarity with landscape design standards, planting design, and hardscape detailing.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and team collaboration skills.

• BIM certification or training is a plus (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional, BRE BIM certification).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working on large-scale urban development, infrastructure, or sustainable landscape projects.

• Understanding of environmental regulations, stormwater management, and green infrastructure integration.

• Familiarity with LEED, SITES, or similar sustainability rating systems.
