Job Title: AVP, Ops Control and Compliance, Operations
Job Responsibilities: - Ensure Custodian regulatory compliance: The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all custodian operations comply with relevant regulations and standards. This involves staying updated with regulatory changes and implementing necessary adjustments in operations.
- Develop and maintain policies & procedures: The role requires the development and ongoing maintenance of policies and procedures related to operations and compliance. This ensures that all processes are standardized and align with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, Monitor and manage compliance risks: The candidate will be tasked with identifying potential compliance risks within the organization, monitoring these risks, and implementing strategies to manage and mitigate them effectively.
- Custodian transaction monitoring and suspicious activity reporting: Monitoring custodian transactions to detect any suspicious activities is a key responsibility. The candidate must ensure that any unusual transactions are reported promptly and thoroughly investigated.
- Provide training and awareness for new/update regulation to custodian team member: The role involves organizing training sessions and raising awareness among team members about new or updated regulations, ensuring that all staff are informed and compliant.
- Escalate and Report Compliance matters: The candidate will be responsible for escalating any compliance issues or concerns to the appropriate authorities within the organization and ensuring that these matters are reported accurately and promptly.
- Liaise with regulator, police and prosecutor during inspections and inquiries: The role requires effective communication and coordination with regulators, police, and prosecutors during inspections and inquiries to ensure transparency and compliance with legal requirements.
Education and Experience Information: - Bachelor's degree in law, Finance, or Accounting is required. - Professional certification in compliance is considered an advantage. - A minimum of 3 years of experience in securities services fund compliance, preferably in a leadership role, is required. - A strong background in banking, financial services, or regulatory institutions is necessary. - The candidate should possess strong leadership and people management skills. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities are essential. - High integrity, ethical judgment, and independence are crucial for this role. - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to interact with regulators, are required. - The candidate should have the initiative to oversee compliance programs effectively. - Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is necessary. - The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities is required.
