What You’ll Do
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Developing budgets for procurement activities and managing expenditures within the approved budget.
- Market Research and Analysis: Conducting market research to stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new products. Analyzing market data to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels and ensuring stock availability to meet operational needs while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., legal, ethical, environmental). Assessing and mitigating procurement risks.
- Quality Control: Collaborating with product teams to ensure purchased products and materials meet quality standards and specifications.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generating reports and analyzing procurement data to evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data‑driven decisions.
- Demand Planning and Forecasting: Utilizing historical data, market trends, and input from sales and marketing teams to forecast demand for products or services. Developing strategies to manage demand fluctuations, mitigate risks, and ensure product availability.
