Role Overview

Regional Cybersecurity Consultancy Firm is building an AI-driven penetration testing platform that combines agentic AI systems, security tool orchestration, and vulnerability intelligence to augment security professionals and automate parts of the offensive security lifecycle.

We are seeking an AI Security Architect / Lead (Hands-on) who will design and build the core architecture of our AI pentesting platform. This is a foundational technical leadership role responsible for translating real-world penetration testing workflows into scalable AI systems.

The ideal candidate is a strong engineer and system architect who is passionate about applying AI to offensive security problems, and who is comfortable building prototypes, defining architecture, and leading a small engineering team.

This role will work closely with our in-house penetration testing experts to transform their knowledge into an AI-assisted security platform.

Key Responsibilities

AI Platform Architecture

Design and lead the architecture of an AI-driven pentesting platform, including:

• AI reasoning systems for vulnerability analysis and attack path generation
• agentic workflows for orchestrating multi-step security tasks
• integration of security tools and vulnerability intelligence
• scalable infrastructure for AI-powered security workflows

Define system components such as:

• agent orchestration
• knowledge retrieval systems
• security tool integration layers
• AI evaluation and observability frameworks.

AI System Development (Hands-on)

Actively design and implement key components of the AI platform including:

• agentic AI workflows for security tasks
• vulnerability triage and reasoning systems
• exploit reproduction assistance workflows
• retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines for security intelligence

Build prototypes and iterate rapidly to validate architectural decisions.

Security Workflow Modeling

Collaborate with penetration testers to model and automate real-world offensive security workflows such as:

• reconnaissance
• enumeration
• vulnerability discovery
• exploit validation
• security reporting

Translate pentesting expertise into structured AI workflows and knowledge systems.

Security Tool Orchestration

Design systems that allow AI agents to interact with and orchestrate security tools such as:

• network scanners
• web vulnerability scanners
• enumeration tools
• exploit frameworks
• custom internal security tools

Develop pipelines that correlate outputs from multiple tools to generate contextualized vulnerability insights.

Security Intelligence & Knowledge Systems

Design pipelines that ingest and structure security knowledge sources including:

• vulnerability databases (CVE/NVD)
• exploit repositories
• security advisories
• internal pentest reports

Develop retrieval systems that allow AI agents to leverage security intelligence effectively.

AI Evaluation & Observability

Establish evaluation frameworks to measure AI system performance including:

• benchmark test datasets
• quality and reasoning evaluation
• error analysis and model improvement workflows

Implement observability for AI systems including:

• tracing
• performance monitoring
• cost and latency analysis.

Team Leadership & Product Development

Serve as the technical lead for the AI pentesting initiative, including:

• mentoring AI engineers
• defining technical roadmaps
• reviewing architecture and code
• collaborating with product and security teams.

Help build and grow the AI engineering capability within the organization.

Technical Requirements

AI / LLM Engineering

Strong experience building AI systems using modern LLM technologies including:

• agent-based systems
• tool/function calling
• multi-step reasoning workflows
• retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)

Experience with frameworks such as:

• LangChain
• AutoGen
• CrewAI
• or custom orchestration frameworks.

Software Engineering

Strong software engineering skills including:

• Python programming
• API design
• modular system architecture
• testing and CI/CD
• version control and code reviews.

Ability to design and build production-grade systems, not only prototypes.

Security Knowledge

Working knowledge of cybersecurity and offensive security concepts including:

• OWASP Top 10
• web application vulnerabilities
• authentication systems (OAuth/OIDC)
• vulnerability management workflows

Experience with security tools or penetration testing workflows is a strong advantage.

Cloud & Infrastructure

Experience deploying and operating systems on cloud platforms such as:

• AWS
• Azure
• Google Cloud

Experience with:

• Docker
• Kubernetes
• scalable service deployment
• infrastructure-as-code.

Data & Retrieval Systems

Experience building data pipelines and knowledge systems including:

• vector databases
• search systems
• embedding models
• indexing and retrieval systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, or related fields.
• Minimum 4–7 years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, or security engineering, with demonstrated experience building complex systems.
• Proven ability to design and implement end-to-end technical systems or platforms.
• Experience working in fast-moving engineering environments or startups is highly valued.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in penetration testing, security research, or offensive security automation.
• Experience integrating security tools or building security automation systems.
• Experience building agent-based AI systems or AI copilots.
• Participation in security competitions, bug bounty programs, or security research.
