The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) Technical/So Waste will support the project’s Chief of Party (COP) with all technical so waste management aspects of the program.

• Manage the So Waste Reduction and So Waste Treatment Teams – oversee their tasks as well as subconsultants’ technical work
• Implement the project’s so waste management strategy, in consultation w/USAID and stakeholders
• Support the COP with all technical work between USAID, government counterparts, project stakeholders
• Support the COP with reporting—including technical reporting to USAID
• Oversee development, delivery, capacity building, and monitoring of subgrantees.
• Assist the COP in maintaining active and cooperative relationships with all key stakeholders, including government officials, project partners, other implementing agencies, and related institutions.
• Represent the project and the organization in the public and ensuring the distribution of information about project achievements and lesson learned.
• Support project staff by creating and maintaining a work environment that promotes teamwork, trust, mutual respect, and empowers staff to take responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in so waste management, urban planning, recycling or related discipline
• 10 years demonstrated project experience in so waste management, urban planning, and other relevant technical areas in Indonesia
• 5 years as a technical expert or lead for mulisciplinary donor-funded programs
• Experience in capacity building for so waste management programs
• Excellentmunication skills in English
• Fluent in Bahasa

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on USAID-funded programs

Background Check and Drug Testing Information

CDM Smith reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions. Criminal history will not automatically disqualify a canate. In addition, during employment indiuals may be required by CDM Smith or a CDM Smith client to successfullyplete additional background checks, including motor vehicle record as well as drug testing.
