Reports to: Finance Manager, SEA

Role Objectives:

  • Prepare and maintain accounting records inpliance with corporate policy and statutory requirements
  • Complete internal and external reporting on a timely and accurate basis
  • Analyze financial results to highlight variance from Forecast
  • Support inmercial finance by proing value-added analysis for business decisions making
  • Support in budgeting and forecasting andmunication with stakeholders
  • Enhance, develop and optimize process improvements
  • Support ad-hoc projects and assignments

Key Result Areas:

Kay Result Areas Performance Measures 1. Financial Accounting and Reporting
  • Prepare and maintenance of General Ledger in accordance with corporate policy and statutory requirements.
  • Accurate and timely monthly GL reconciliation.
  • Accurate and timely submission of financial results internally (as per established corporate reporting datelines) and externally (as per audit, tax and other statutorypliance).
2. Working Capital & Fixed Assets Management
  • Safeguarding and optimize the organization’s investment in working capital and fixed assets.
3. Financial Planning
  • Support in the preparation of financial plan and forecast
  • Proe value-added analysis to support business decisions
4. System and Processes Management
  • Ensure all key internal controls procedures are in force.

Main Tasks and Accountabilities:

1. Financial Accounting and Reporting
  • Prepare and maintain the general ledger as per Mattel’s accounting policy and statutory requirements
  • Coordinate andplete the month-end closing and submission as per corporate reporting datelines
  • Ensure data integrity and agreement in various ISIS subledger and Oracle general ledger
  • Prepare the required month-end journals for accrual of customers growth rebate, defective returns, royalty, logistic costs, inventory shrinkage and obsolesce, A&P, etc.
  • Ensure data in HFM in agreement with Oracle general ledger
  • Complete the Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly Financial Reporting Package accurately and timely
  • Complete the internal management reporting package on a timely basis and to discuss with management on the financial position relative to plan and highlight variance from plan
  • Prepare the weekly SOTB and monthly Flash Report
  • All asset and liabilities accounts are accurately reconciled on a monthly basis, including interpany reconciliation
  • Accurate and timely preparation of the necessary schedules and information as required by audit, tax and other statutory reporting and ensure timely filing with the relevant statutory bodies
2. Working Capital & Fixed Assets Management
  • Ensure all vendors’ invoices are approved and coded correctly and updated into the system accurately and timely
  • Ensure inventory records are updated with all movements and necessary adjustments on a timely basis
  • Monthly evaluation of credit risk and prepare the provision for doubtful debts
  • Monthly AR aging reporting
  • Ensure Accounts Receivables are current and follow up on past due to balances and promptly resolve any discrepancy noted
  • To conduct credit checking and evaluation on direct customers
  • Oversee the processing and correctness of invoices, DN, CN, etc
  • Timely and accurate application of customer receipts
  • Ensure all fixed assets are recorded and depreciated as per Mattel’s accounting policy
3. Financial Planning and Analytics
  • Assist in the preparation of financial plan and forecast
  • Analyze monthly financials actualization vs forecast and proementaries
  • Support in margin and profitability analysis
  • Assist in Weekly Operational Review meeting
4. System and Processes Managment
  • Ensure all key internal controls procedures continue in force
  • Ensure the systems effectively and accurately report financial results and/or rmend system development requirements and opportunities

SEA sales and marketing team and SEA Finance Team
  • External Working Relationships :
Distributor and customers, auditors, tax agent, Inland Revenue, solicitors.

  • Accounting related degree
  • Member of Accounting professional body.


  • Preferably at least one-yearmercial working experience in MNC and 3 years of audit experience in Big 4 firms
  • Knowledge in preparing full set accounts is preferred
  • Hands-on
  • Ability to handle tight deadlines and manage a diverse range of assigned work.
