IFC is seeking a Principal Investment Officer - Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services, Asia and Pacific, to be based in Jakarta, to drive the MAS work for the sector in the region. Duties and Accountabilities: The roles and responsibilities of the position will include but not be limited to: The canate is expected to perform the functions of a new business PIO at all material stages of the IFC deal cycle, from deal origination to portfolio management:

• Play a senior leadership role for the East Asia & Pacific MAS team with an emphasis on the MAS program in Indonesia, and would include supporting select business development/deals oute Indonesia.
• In strong collaboration with the upstream and advisory staff, develop a strong pipeline of good quality investment opportunities in Indonesia by anticipating market trends and employing sector/country knowledge.
• Supervise amensurate number of MAS projects in the East Asia & Pacific region.
• Work closely with the global MAS team, country managers and officers – joint work to include developing client, country and sector strategies.
• Deepen relationship and engagement with the relevant World Bank team in Indonesia.
• Evaluate, structure, negotiate, and close new transactions, portfolio restructurings, capital increases, equity sales, etc.
• Review and analyze business opportunities, synthesize information into internal reports for decision making purposes.
• Develop innovative and appropriate financial structures forplex transactions.
• Lead negotiation/documentation teams; use strong negotiation skills to develop solutions and ovee impasses in straightforward andplex transactions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, global and regional private businesses, banking and multilateral partners and government officials to further develop investment opportunities.
• Lead and manage project teams, mentor and develop staff in the team.
• Coordinate closely with social, environmental, and technical assistance colleagues to add value to our clients businesses, find pragmatic solutions to the specific sector challenges, and achieve sustainable development impact.
• Astute in anticipating where future opportunities and innovation will emerge in markets and sectors, and able to leverage expertise and reputation to connect IFC with those opportunities to grow MAS business and open new markets.
• Able to have difficult conversations with clients to set reasonable expectations and with team members on their accountabilities or to address performance issues.
• Has a reputation for being able to connect the dots across business strategies and portfolio management lessons learned to generate innovativeeas, products, or solutions that can be replicated in other locations.

Selection Criteria

• Master s degree or equivalent professional qualification in Business, Finance, Economics, International Relations, Science, Engineering, or other relevant field.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience in project and/or program development, producing feasibility studies, hands-on advisory and/or consulting functions in emerging markets. At least 15 years of experience with a development finance institution (DFI), amercial and investment bank or a private equity firm with tasks related to private sector MAS financing.
• Proven and recent deal track-record of sourcing, structuring and closing investments, both debt and equity/mezz, in MAS sectors, including investments in the East Asia & Pacific region.
• Regional knowledge of countries and understanding of sector challenges faced by Indoensia and the broader East Asia region.
• Genuinemitment to development and to the World Bank Group and IFC s mission, strategy and values.
• Understanding of IFC’s strategic priorities and changing business model against the backdrop of IFC 3.0.
• Ability to develop innovative solutions and challenge the status quo openly to build the business.
• Strong business development and client relationship skills, demonstratedwork relevant for the team’s business, track record and ability to focus on clients’ needs effectively; strong sense of service to clients and demonstrated business development aptitude; proven success in developing client relationships.
• Ability to interact directly and independently with the senior management of potential clients, financial and technical partners as well as senior government officials.
• Financial skills: demonstrated ability to structure a variety ofplex financial instruments (debt and equity); strong credit skills.
• Sound business judgment inentifying potential business partners; good “deal sense” based on demonstrated strong analytical skills.
• Demonstrated capacity to innovate and challenge the status quo and proven track record of newea generation, business development, and creating projects/programs from scratch.
• Deep understanding of the manufacturing, agribusiness and services sectors and ability to link policy reforms, advisory interventions, investment, and mobilization to deliver solutions at a country level via the Cascade approach.
• Track record of engaging with private sector clients, local and national governments and other stakeholders to encourage pioneering business and market development.
• Demonstrated experience in project/program management, including executing against implementation plans with defined business development milestones.
• Demonstrated experience in monitoring and reporting on a portfolio of projects/programs/initiatives.
• Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills; demonstrated ability to synthetizeplex information and make concrete strategic and tactical rmendations.
• Gravitas to interact directly with senior management of clients, technical partners and with senior government officials.
• Sensitivity for working in multicultural environment,mitment to diversity, and ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues/clients/partners across regions, sectors and business lines.
• Excellent people skills, openness to feedback, neweas, and ability to ge, and motivate others.
• Ability to mentor and coach junior staff, share experiences and ensure quality.
• Strong written and verbalmunications skills.
