UNICEF Indonesia is seeking one international consultant to work closely with the national agency appointed by Government of Indonesia (Bappenas) to support the preparation of the background paper on Nutrition Sector Review. The consultant is expected to support a review of policies and programmes across the life course with specific focus on reducing stunting, wasting, micronutrient deficiencies, and overweight and obesity among women and children, and to leadpilation of the rmendations and report. The assignment will be home-based, for max 40 working days within 3.5 months duration.
How can you make a difference?
The Government of Indonesia has recently embarked on the preparation of the next five-year National Medium-Term Development Plan for 2025-2029 (known as RPJMN). as the first phase of the implementation of the Government’s 2025-2045 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN). The 2025-2029 RPJMN will proe the basis for the formulation of the forting Strategic Plans (RENSTRA) of line ministries, as well as the subsequent generations of Provincial and District Medium-Term Development Plans. These plans are taken into account when developing the government’s annual work plans and allocating government resources.
Stunting and Wasting indicators are included in the main chapter of Book I of the current RPJMN (2020-24), and other nutrition indicators are included in health chapter of Book II.
The government recognizes that more could be done to ensure that nutrition is firmly anchored in the uing RPJMN. Given the huge triple burden of malnutrition in the country, the strong focus andmitment on reducing stunting, wasting and other forms of malnutrition is expected to continue in theing years. This includes how best to address the emerging problems of overweight and nonmunicable diseases which appear to affect all ie groups. This will be important to ensure achievement by Indonesia to the SDG targets to end hunger and all forms of malnutrition by 2030
UNICEF has been requested by Government of Indonesia through BAPPENAS to support the development of an analytical paper on nutrition that can proe a sound basis for integrating nutrition into the 2025-2029 RPJMN. This work should be built on the findings of different studies and to also include an analysis of the status of implementation of existing policies and plans.

Key Deliverables: 1. A draft background paper which proes the following: a. Synopsis on the implementation status of the nutrition priorities included in the 2020-2024 RPJMN and national policy frameworks and plans for addressing malnutrition in Indonesia b. Identification of opportunities for integrating nutrition in all relevant sectors (health and non-health) 2. List of draft indicators and targets to be included in the forting RPJMN 3. final draft background paper/interim report in English which proes the following: a. Summary of the nutrition policy and programme implementation status b.List of rmended steps on how to adopt SDGs into RPJMN c.List of rmended indicators and targets for inclusion in the forting RPJMN 4.Finalized background paper for Nutrition Sector Review submitted to the GoI

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Indiual Contractors. Consultants and indiual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected canate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are va for the entire period of the contract. The canate may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Co).
