About this role
The geotechnical leader role demands a highly experienced and knowledgeable individual in the field of geotechnical engineering. They oversee and manage geotechnical aspects of projects, providing technical expertise, leading teams, and ensuring successful completion of geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design.

What will I do?

• Act as the geotechnical engineering lead on preliminary, concept and detailed engineering design work across a broad range of projects in geotechnical and related areas. You will also provide design solutions or alternative design concepts for complex engineering problems and guide the geotechnical design team members in implementation of those solutions in the design work.
• Manage the technical/design inputs and outputs on geotechnical engineering projects, ensuring work quality is maintained to the highest standard and carry out project coordination, client and stakeholders’ relationship management and related business development activities with new and existing clients
• Carry out project coordination, client and stakeholders’ relationship management and related business development activities with new and existing clients. This will include leading the preparation and delivery of EOIs, proposals, tender submissions, and presentations, Prepare project reports for clients summarising key findings and issues and strategically advising on best outcomes, Effectively manage the time, quality, budget, and performance of projects.
• As a leader you will assist in the development and maintenance of project and design quality systems in the Jakarta office, participate in broader office, geography, regional and/or Arup Group wide activities as assigned or appropriate, support and actively implement the Arup vision and strategy for the Australasia region and Support the firm’s compliance in maintaining ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 requirements.

What will I bring?

• Bachelors’ Degree in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering from a recognised institution. Masters’ Degree will be advantageous with at least of 10-15 years of relevant experience in and successful technical delivery of infrastructure structural and civil design works.
• Significant technical experience in design of heavy civil engineering structures in particular bridges, cut & cover tunnels and maritime structures in the transport infrastructure space will be well regarded.
• Relevant Indonesian licenses SKA/SKK & STRI. Chartered Membership of a reputable international engineering institution will be advantageous.
• Familiarity with Indonesian and International Design Codes & Standards and ability to independently undertake complex technical analyses and design using structural engineering software and report on results and guide team members as appropriate.
• Experience in managing and delivering key project outcomes in accordance with the client’s brief and working in multi-disciplinary project teams and in the effective technical supervision and development of less experienced team members including structural engineers and BIM/CAD operators.
