As a Buyer, you will process requisitions and provides support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost, price analyses and contract/purchase order generation.

As the Buyer, you will:

• Developing improvement plans to support buyers & professionals related to Response Time, Lean Targets Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) to enable optimal and efficient operations.

• Supporting customers and customer proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection to ensure the best deal.

• Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.

• Prepare and raise purchase orders and blanket order. order schedules.

• Purchase goods, materials, components, or services.

• Before new Purchase Oder (PO) is placed, review unallocated inventory for items that may be feasible for substitution and/or repurposing.

• Refer all inventory items that may be feasible for substitution and/or repurposing to engineering by means of Engineering Change (EC) Request.

• Coordinate the EC for substitution and/or repurposing to run in parallel with the request for quotation (RFQ) for the original item so as not to lose time waiting on the outcome of the EC.

• Coordinate the Non-Conformity (NC) product to related supplier & departments.

• Performing analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives.

• Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations.

• Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities and other issues.

• Monitor market trends, provide analysis on costs & any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization.

• Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation.

• Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.

• Adhere to any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff, and visitors.

• Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts award process.

The successful candidate must bring:

• Good proficiency in English.

• University Degree with minimum 3-year experience in Supply Chain or another similar role.

• Superb written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.

• Familiar with ERP (Syteline/SAP etc) system.

• Excellent negotiation, organizational, and collaboration skills.

• Have a basic understanding of certain areas (i.e. finance, accounting, tax, and legal).

Top candidates will also bring:

• Having ISO, API Q1, API 6A & 16A Knowledge is advantage.

• Experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus.

• Capability to do industry benchmarking and market intelligence reports independently.

• Experience in conducting the 7 steps of strategic sourcing process.

• Passionate in cost efficiency without compromising lead time and quality requirements.

• Ability to understand and/or converse in Chinese (Mandarin) is a plus for the purpose of liaising with suppliers from China.

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

• This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs and steps, lifting devices, and pushing and pulling equipment.

• This job requires 10-20% of travelling within Indonesia and overseas.
