Job Description: To serve as an administrative assistant to the Dean of STEM, playing an integral and critical role in the day-to-day operations of the unit. Includes coordination of administrative procedures within the School of STEM. Individual is responsible for making appointments, scheduling meetings, taking notes, entering course schedules, disseminating information, and assisting with the timely submission of all School of STEM reports. Provides leadership and works collaboratively as a team member with all administrative assistants. Works with enthusiasm and a positive spirit and maintains the strictest confidentiality regarding all office and personnel matters. Provides administrative support for STEM Programs at the Middletown Campus, Fauquier Campus, the Luray-Page County Center, and satellite locations The hiring range for this position is $41,000-52,000. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.   • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-faceted office environment while keeping multiple priorities in focus and in progress.
  • Proficient with office procedures, planning, time management, and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop administrative procedures in the unit, and to coordinate their implementation to School of STEM personnel.
  • Effective technology skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and other educational technologies.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with ability to manage interactions with visitors, students, faculty, staff, and the public.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with ability to tailor communication to multiple audiences.
  • Command of confidentiality, resolving concerns, and tact are required.
Required Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Education or training in administrative support technology or related field or equivalent.
