About the role:
An opportunity for 3 x Full Time Ongoing Injury Management and Rehabilitation Consultants to be part of our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Division.
Position located at our Victoria Police Centre, Melbourne CBD.
The Injury Management and Rehabilitation Consultant provides early and ongoing management to support ill and injured employees, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. The position will work closely and collaboratively with local managers, employees and in consultation with all stakeholders, to achieve a safe and sustainable remain at work or early return to work outcomes.
Reporting to the Injury Management Team Leader you will manage a portfolio of claims for the Region, ensuring best practice in claims management and return to work planning.
Your duties will include:
- Providing advice and guidance to managers to ensure Victoria Police and employees meet return to work obligations in accordance with the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013.
- Consulting and planning with injured employees, their managers and treatment providers about work capacity, treatment, and suitable employment options for the duration of the 52-week obligation period and beyond where necessary.
- Provide ongoing support to monitor the progress of ill/injured workers recovery and capacity to return to work and facilitate return to work planning.
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team of health, safety and wellbeing professionals and providing injury management expertise to the team.
- Facilitating pro-active early intervention and prevention strategies as well as contributing to the upskilling of managers to help influence/enhance stay at work outcomes.
- Assisting with resolving any return-to-work related issues and disputes.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery and continuous improvement of workplace-based Injury Management programs within a large, complex organisational environment.
- Qualifications in one or more of Occupational Rehabilitation, Personal Injury Management, Allied/Mental Health would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with other members in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills and ability to build relationships and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
