Wahana Visi Indonesia is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to work and collaborate to empower the most vulnerable children, family and community through community development, advocacy, and emergency response for sustainable transformation regardless of religion, race, ethnic or gender. Since 1998, Wahana Visi Indonesia has carried out various community development programs focusing on children. Key Responsibilities: Strategy Development & Planning 15%
  • Facilitate visioning on child-focused transformational development and planning processes with community members – especially the most vulnerable, and within community based groups.
  • Ensure that project priorities and approaches are based on community and partners’ capacities, needs, resources and opportunities and in alignment with Program Design Document and Annual Operating Plan.
  • Actively support program team leader and collaborate with project team in project planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting processes relevant to assigned areas
  • Finalize annual, quarterly and monthly planning on program implementation which contribute to program planning.
Resource Acquisition & Management 5%
  • Ensure cost-effective and efficent use of resources.
  • Provide technical support for stakeholders and community partners to identify and mobilize community resources needed for project implementation.
Capacity Building 25%
  • Build capacity of WVIDN and partner community gorups to deliver joint outcomes effectively, include to maintain and monitor the effectivenes of their partnership overtime.
  • Train partner community groups on appropriate skills and self-assessment methods to build their capacity for management of local initiatives.
  • Facilitate community (including children and the marginalized) to participate in the gathering of, reflection upon and learning from local information.
  • Build capacity of community partners to define monitoring process and indicators for mutual learning and accountability of project implementation and capacity building.
  • Facilitate an empowering approach to formation and ongoing capacity building of new and existing community organizations for holistic sustainable development, including partnership with World Vision for project implementation where appropriate.
  • Provide technical advice to help align the program and project objectives and activities with people’s aspirations and the work of various community partners resulting in the well-being of children.
  • Encourage and enable communities to share and learn from their own experiences as part of confidence and capacity building.
Accountability & Quality Assurance 20%
  • Provide technical assistance to help community partners to prioritize projects based on opportunity, needs and community capacities.
  • Undertake social networks analysis in order to understand the functions various stakeholders fulfill, power dynamics, potential for partnership and capacity building needs within target areas.
  • Participate in and support the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools and measurements of program/project effectiveness to track the delivery of joint outcomes.
  • Raise awareness and facilitate critical analysis of community issues and opportunities.
  • Provide technical assistance for the community to take complicated subjects and communicate them simply and practically to government.
  • Provide technical advice to assist communities and partners to prepare and implement community-managed disaster preparedness plans.
  • Ensure that disaster preparedness plans strengthen the resilience of communities for disasters and reduce disaster risks.
  • Ensure that the projects within target areas effectively integrate all aspects of disaster management and advocacy into long term development process.
  • Ensure that gender analysis, Christian commitment, and child protection are mainstreamed in communities.
  • Share lessons learned from reports, TDIs and evaluations with communities, development partners and other WV Partnership stakeholders,
Networking & Coordination 25%
  • Communicate effectively identity, mission, vision, values and approach of WVI, GKI SW Jatim and GKI Tanah Papua Klasis Numfor to work in ways that is contextually appropriate and clear.
  • Build close and constructive relationships and actively learn within partner communities in order to understand their realities and facilitate development processes effectively.
  • Ensure that dialogue with the community and partners are includes whole communities inclusive of their diversity.
  • Enable and facilitate networking and connections among local stakeholder groups and between local partners and others outside the area which focused on promoting the well-being of children, especially the most vulnerable (Local stakeholders groups may include formal and informal community-based organizations, local churches, other faith-based organizations, businesses, other NGOs and local government agencies).
  • Actively search for new partners within and outside the community and work with stakeholders in a range of different development relationships towards the well-being of children in the communities.
  • Contribute to develop robust networks and excellent relationships between WVIDN and Government (including Diknas, Kesra, Nakertrans, Bappeda, Dinkes), related Commissions at DPRD, heads of internationl and local NGOs, UN institutions, communities, religious institution especially Churches and children - as required by ADP manager - to establish cooperation for transformational development and to secure necessary technical, human and finance resources.
  • Assist community to take complicated subjects and communicate them simply and practically to government.
  • Work with partners to coordinate volunteers’ efforts to enable integration and synergy and prevent duplication and burn-out.
Management & Leadership 10%
  • Live among the people, endeavoring to witness to Christ through life.
  • Monitor the context of target areas on an ongoing basis and recommend adjustments to program plans and management in light of changing context, resources, and opportunities.
  • Monitor project expenses against budget for target areas and provide recommendations for over / under-spending.
  • Develop strong understanding of local politics and how it affects development processes.
  • Be flexible and adaptable - the development program coordinator is expected to progress in his/her growth and transformation as civil society groups and organizations also grow and become stronger
  • Create enabling and positive team environment where staff are able to develop their spiritual gifts and grow in Christian maturity and facilitate a working environment of mutual trust, respect, and care among all staff.
  • Ensure that cadres and partners understand and follow the WV child protection policy, that efforts are taken to respond promptly and appropriately to child protection incidents, and that awareness raising for prevention and reporting of child protection incidents occurs within the program area.
Educational Qualification:
  • Preferaby bachelor degree majoring social development or any other relevant field.
Professional Experience:
  • Min. 2 years’ experience as Project Coordinator, experience in community development program is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of key aspects of development work.
  • Preferably have experience in working with churches.
  • roficient in implementing operational models with partners.
  • Strongcommunication, interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Strong conceptual understanding in basic design, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Skilled in using MS Teams, Zoom, e-mail and other applications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proficiency in English communication is highly valuable.
