About the Head of Strategy and Planning Role: Reporting to the business leaders, you will contribute in driving profitable and sustainable growth within the organisation, aligning with the groups strategic objectives. Leveraging your expertise, you will contribute to the formulation and execution of effective plans, while maintaining a strong focus on stakeholder management and satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats within the general insurance industry
  • Provide annual business outlook reports, offering insights on market movements and growth prospects specific to general insurance
  • Focus on identifying growth areas within the general insurance sector and provide strategic direction to optimise performance
  • Utilise quantitative analysis skills to interpret financial data and guide investment decisions to enhance operational efficiency and profitability
  • Provide recommendations and insights to department heads based on data-driven analysis and market insights
  • Collaborate with the IT department to identify strategic investments in technology that align with business objectives and improve customer experience
  • Analyse claims data to identify high-performing products and areas for improvement, recommending adjustments as needed
  • Lead a dedicated Financial Planning and Analytics team, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectives
  • Cultivate strong relationships with the CEO, and other key stakeholders, providing regular updates on strategic initiatives and performance metrics within the general insurance sector
To succeed in this Head of Strategy and Planning role, you will need strong technical skills including industry/business/financial analysis skills. Key Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in business analysis, strategic planning, or related fields within the general insurance industry
  • Proven track record of conducting market research and analysis within the general insurance sector
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis and the ability to interpret complex data sets specific to insurance
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey insights and recommendations to senior leadership within the general insurance context
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities and drive strategic initiatives within the general insurance sector
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams within the general insurance industry, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment
  • Prior experience in consultancy or within the general insurance industry is highly desirable.
