About The Role:
Manages the products reactive and proactive sales efforts. Provides day to day leadership to sales associates to achieve product sales objectives with overall responsibility for achieving booking goals and property revenues.
Implements the brand’s service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process and focuses on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of the company sales objectives.
Manages the marketing budget to enable development of company specific campaigns, promotions and collateral to drive revenue and meet business objectives.
Core Work Activities:
Supporting Developing & Executing Sales Strategies
- Works with sales leaders to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of this strategy for the segment.
- Works with the management team to create and implement a sales plan addressing revenue, customers and the market for the segment led by the DOS.
- Assists with the development and implementation of promotions, both internal and external.
Maximizing Revenue
- Provides positive and aggressive leadership to ensure maximum revenue potential (e.g., sets example with personal booking goals).
- Recommends booking goals for sales team members.
Marketing Strategy:
- Develop marketing strategies that align with overall business goals.
Managing Sales Activities
- Monitors all day to day activities of direct reports.
- Approves space release for catering to maximize revenue (DOS, Group) in the absence of a Business Evaluation Manager.
- Participates in sales calls with members of the sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business.
- Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposals, writing contracts, and customer correspondence).
Building Successful Relationships
- Develops and manages relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels (e.g., Event Booking Center, Market Sales, GSO) to ensure the property needs are being achieved and the sales efforts are complementary, not duplicative.
Analyzing & Reporting on Sales and Financial Data
- Analyzes market information by using sales systems and implements strategy to achieve property’s financial room and catering goals.
- Assists Revenue Management with completing accurate six period projections.
- Reviews sales and catering guest satisfaction results to identify areas of improvement.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in Director of Sales and Marketing or a related role, with at least 5 years of managerial experience.
- Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to use data to drive sales and marketing decisions.
- Able to utilize various marketing channels, including digital marketing, content marketing, social media, and traditional advertising, to reach target audiences.
- Strong Analysis of customer insights, market trends, and competitors to adjust marketing strategies.
- Have understanding and ability to communicate product features and benefits effectively to the sales team and customers.
- Proficiency in using sales and marketing software and tools, including CRM systems, analytics platforms, and automation tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external communication
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a sales and marketing team effectively.
