Job Overview:

Manage day to day operations/activities at the Fabrication yard as per assigned area (Operations or Projects). Provide leadership, support, commitment and guidance on Quality and Safety issues. The Construction Superintendent will be accountable for oversight and management of various multi-discipline fabrication systems, inclusive of monitoring subcontractor performance. Implementation of various strategic goals and objectives within the Global Fabrication Organization. Liaise with project team to interface with Fabrication yard.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the planning and coordination of civil and structural fabrication activities, including material preparation, welding, cutting, fitting, assembly, piling, foundations, steel erection and installation, while optimizing resource utilization and productivity
• Participate in planning and executing of fabrication and erection operations on schedule and within budget
• Participate in and establish plans for short term and long-term development of Fabrication resources
• Track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets
• Ensure that safety programs are established, communicated, and adhered to by all personnel while complying with all applicable safety regulations
• Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement efficiencies, to improve productivity

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree Civil / Structural (preferred) or equivalent relevant experience
• 12 years relevant industry experience
• Experienced with Civil & Structural, fabrication, and installation
• Strong sense of urgency and problem-solving skills
• Ability to deliver results and manage multi-regional and multi-disciplinary team of individuals
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) required

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

• Strong leadership, team management and time management abilities with a focus on achieving results while maintaining a positive work environment.
• Have wide experience with technical activities, including on and offshore operations.
• Communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken
• Computer literate on Microsoft programs: Word, Access, Power Point, Excel, Project.
• Self-motivated, self-reliant and able to operate independently, while exercising good independent judgement and decision-making.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and safely maneuver around nearby presence of various equipment.
• Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance, and stoop, reach on a regular basis.

Project / Area / Regional Specifics:

• (Civil) - Has proven ability in the management of shop civil fabrication (re-bar bending & pre-assembled formwork), piling installation, and deep foundations, including an advanced knowledge of quality requirements, work processes, reporting, logistics, scheduling, man-hour control and expediting for gas processing plants, refineries, LNG plant, buildings, and utility facilities
• Has an excellent knowledge of current internationally recognized Codes and Standards such as:
  • American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC)
  • American Concrete Institute (ACI)
  • American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM)
  • American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO).
  • Uniform Building Code (UBC)
  • American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
• (Structural) - Has proven ability in the management of structural steel fabrication and erection, including an advanced knowledge of quality requirements, work processes, reporting, coating, logistics, scheduling, man-hour control and expediting for gas processing plants, refineries, LNG plant, modules, offshore platforms and utility facilities.
• Has an excellent knowledge of current internationally recognized Codes and Standards such as:
  • American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC)
  • American Concrete Institute (ACI)
  • American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM)
  • American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO).
  • Uniform Building Code (UBC)
  • American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
