Tetra Tech was awarded the USAID Sustainable Energy for Indonesias Advancing Resilience (SINAR) project from January 2021 to January 2026. SINAR seeks to advance Indonesias development goals in expanding reliable and equitable energy services necessary for sustainable development and inclusive economic growth. To achieve this goal, SINAR will focus on the following areas: 1) Accelerating deployment of advanced energy technologies, 2) Improving performance of energy utilities, 3) Applying procurement best practices, and 4) Establishing an institutional framework and capacity for energy sector transformation.

By achieving this goal, USAID will contribute to Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals and 2020-2024 National Medium Term Development Plan.

Position Background

Sustainable Energy for Indonesia’s Advancing Resilience (SINAR) is a five-year technical assistance project supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). USAID SINAR builds upon the longstanding commitment and partnership between the U.S. Government and the Government of Indonesia in climate change mitigation in the energy sector. The project seeks to advance Indonesias development priorities in expanding reliable and equitable energy services necessary for sustainable development and inclusive economic growth.

To achieve this goal, the project will focus on following areas: Objective 1 focusing on development of advanced energy system, Objective 2 focusing on improved utilities performance, objective 3 focusing on energy procurement and sustainable finance, objective 4 focusing on institutional framework and capacity and strategic program division focusing on cross cutting and strategic program.

Under objective 3, SINAR interventions include facilitating climate smart financing mechanism, incentive schemes, and business models, supporting the introduction of AES procurement and pricing to maximize the value of RE and building the capacity of financial institutions for sustainable finance. Some of the main beneficiaries of SINAR under this objective are Regional Government, Bappenas, Ministry of Finance, OJK, PLN, PT SMI, INA, Pertamina, etc.

Position summary & job purpose

Tetra Tech has an opportunity for an Energy Program Coordinator to provide coordination support to the SINAR project. The Energy Program Coordinator will conduct desktop research, produce output deliverables developing documents, and create writing material for program administrative purposes. Position responsibilities:

• Support Objective 3 managers in conducting desktop research on subjects related to activities described in the above background.

• Support Objective 3 managers in producing output deliverables for activities as described above. Example of support such as proof reading of report, editing report, compiling data for report etc.

• Support objective 3 managers in developing documents and writing material for program administrative purposes. Example of documents are data for project monitoring evaluation system (MRV-Platform), weekly report, event report, quarterly report and article publication.

• Support objective 3 managers in monitoring progress activities as stated under Terms of References (TOR).

• Support objective 3 managers in delivering events, workshop and FGDs.

• Support other requests from Objective 3 Managers which is related to activities as described in the above background.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related fields such as social sciences, communication, international studies, business, policy.
• Has work experiences or exposure 1 year or more in sustainability, environment, climate change,
• Have exposures working with development partner, NGO and or CSO.

Valued Qualifications

• Indonesian national or current resident of Indonesia
• Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English (reading, writing, and oral presentation)
